I wanted to say to my few faithful readers that, yes, I realize I haven’t posted anything in a month or so. Certainly it’s been on my mind. I just wanted you all to know that I’ve moved house twice this summer and although I’m not finished unpacking from the second move, I’ve reached a state of equilibrium where I actually have the leisure time to sit and write a blog post instead of searching through boxes for extension cords or toothpaste or any one of the thousands of necessities of everyday life that have been languishing “in a box somewhere”. If you’ve ever moved, you know what I’ve been going through.
In fact I have now consolidated my household to such an extent that ALL my books — and believe me, that’s a lot of books — are now within 30 feet of each other in what I have started to think of as their “forever home”. They’re still in boxes, but I’m commissioning someone to build me bookshelves and, as a special treat, library ladders.
In the meantime, all I have to do is reach into a box and draw out a handful of blog-worthy volumes very nearly at random. My first such lucky dip contained six paperbacks by E.C.R. Lorac, so there’s that to which to look forward … so my next blog post will almost certainly be on Case in the Clinic, a 1941 novel of which I have a rather nice paperback edition from Collins White Circle Canada.
So thank you for your patience, and I’ll be up and blogging with much greater regularity soon! Thanks to all my blog friends for continuing to entertain and inform me during a period where I had no time to read much … you helped me make my reading time count, and I’m grateful.
Note: none of these photographs represents my actual stuff. But they certainly could. 😉
Library ladders!!!! So jealous!
I think it’s prety obvious that we want to see photos of those ladders when they’re done, Noah…so very, very jealous!
Glad things are finally settling down – hete’s to happy days ahead 😀
Here even 😉
I come to say how very jealous I am of the soon-to-be Library Ladders (squeee!!) only to find that I have been (per usual) beaten to the punch by Kate & JJ. And, yes, pictures of said ladders are hereby demanded.
Yeah, keep me on the distribution list for those library ladder pix. Given that I am, er, vertically challenged, they certainly could come in handy. Welcome back, by the way!
We’ll wait for you patiently Noah – but you can tell that it’s the library ladders that we are really excited about.
Wonderful to hear you’re settling in! We’re stuck between the first and second of three moves we’ll be making in 2018 and 2019, culminating in what we hope will be a “forever home” (for the books, at least). I’m sure you’ll understand the pangs of jealousy I’m feeling.
I spent seven weeks in moving limbo earlier this summer so, yes, I do understand your situation … and wish you well for the final destination!!
